건축과 가구에 대한 Lassen 형제의 아카이브는 덴마크 전통 디자인의 가장 뛰어난 특성을 반영한다. 바이 라센(by Lassen)은 수많은 새내기 디자이너들에게 영감을 주는 덴마크 가구 브랜드로, 신중하고 단정한 라이프스타일을 창조한다. 모겐스 라센(Mogens Lassen)과 플레밍 라센(Flemming Lassen)은 화가인 부모의 슬하에서 성장했고 자연스럽게 예술가적 사고를 키워왔다. 어릴 때부터 형제의 행보는 비범했다. 뛰노는 또래 친구들과 달리 건축물을 관찰하고 스케치하는 데 오랜 시간을 보내곤 했다. 견습생으로 건축계에 입문한 형 모겐스 라센은 고국에 자신만의 스튜디오를 설립하고, 덴마크 예술과 공예품 전시회인 '덴 퍼머넌테(Den Permanente)'의 건축가로 일하며 국가의 상징적인 디자인을 견고히 했다. 모양, 치수, 각도 실험을 즐겼던 그는 큐브 컬렉션 등 자신의 취향을 한껏 반영한 디자인으로 많은 사랑을 받았다. 모겐스 라센의 작품은 이렇듯 날카로운 수학적 감각, 독일 디자인 학교 바우하우스의 기하학적 매력에 바탕을 두고 있다. 한편, 플레밍 라센은 덴마크 디자인에 기능주의를 강조한 모더니스트다. 1929년 그는 함께 학창 시절을 보낸 아르네 야콥센(Arne Jacobsen)과 함께 '미래의 집(The House of the Future)' 프로젝트를 디자인해 코펜하겐 포럼에서 열린 전시회에 출품했다. 1등의 영예를 안으며 두 사람은 국제적인 명성을 떨쳤고, 건축 내부의 독특한 가구 디자인으로 수집가들의 마음을 뒤흔들었다. 스칸디나비아의 대표 가구 브랜드 바이 라센의 미션은 역사적이면서 현대적인, 좋은 디자인을 만드는 것이다. 이전에 생산되지 않은 가구 및 액세서리를 탐구하고 새로운 아이콘들로 재창조하는 과정을 통해 전 세계적으로 인정 받는 브랜드가 되길 꿈꾼다.

The Frame 70 module can be hung directly on the wall or stand freely on the floor. Combine Frame for a classic bookcase, bedside table, a room divider or something completely different. Frame 35 with 2 drawers is a flexible storage solution consisting of a square module in a cubist frame. The simple storage system is inspired by Mogens Lassen’s Kubus candlestick from 1962, which is based on strict mathematical formulas and great precision.

MINGLE COLLECTION Design by Flemming Lassen

Flemming Lassen designed the Mingle sofa in 1938 for the annual carpentry master competition. He received standing ovations from, among others, the famous Danish magazine Arkitekten for the sofa’s qualities as a small, elegant and simple design.

The Lassen chair is an ode to the Lassen brothers, who had an uncompromising approach and a special sense of detail, quality and form. The chair is inspired by an old Flemming Lassen sketch and combines his love of organic, wavy, unconventional silhouettes with the feeling of strict contours.

LASSEN CHAIR Country: Lithuania

The upholstered dining table chair, Lassen Chair, is inspired by a sketch by architect Flemming Lassen’s hand. The designers Magnus Sangild and Marianne Viktor have interpreted the chair and brought it to light. As an ode to Lassen’s organic, undulating silhouettes as well as his uncompromising sense of quality and comfort. The two-piece upholstered seat embraces the body and invites for hours of sitting around the dinner table, while the black, powder-coated frame forms a minimalist base for it.

Frame 35 including a door is a flexible storage solution consisting of a square module in a cubist frame. The simple storage system is inspired by Mogens Lassen’s Kubus candlestick from 1962, which is based on strict mathematical formulas and great precision. His mantra was “that everything should be connected”. In this way, peace and harmony are created for the eye. The frame modules including a door are available in four sizes: 28, 35, 42 and 49, which can be placed in countless contexts.

ML33 COLLECTION

장인 정신이 깃든 ML33은 모겐스 라센의 완벽한 디자인과 편안한 사용감이 돋보이는 의자다. ML33은 가구 브랜드 프리츠 한센을 위해 디자인되었으며, 1933년부터 덴마크 코펜하겐 미술 디자인 박물관에서 영구 전시 중이다. 가죽 버전으로 론칭했지만, 덴마크 제조업체인 크바드라트(Kvadrat)의 두 가지 다른 직물로도 출시되고 있다.

바이 라센의 상징적인 쿠버스 컬렉션은 1962년 모겐스 라센이 수년간의 계산법을 연구한 끝에 도출한
아이디어다. 각각의 쿠버스 촛대는 디자이너의 날카로운 수치 감각을 바탕으로 제작됐다. 수학적인 실험을 좋아했던 모겐스 라센은 응집되고 조화를 이룬 것이 좋은 건축물이자 디자인이라고 생각했다.
