This house, located in Jakarta, Indonesia, was designed for a couple of dentists and their two children. The site is a typical rectangular shape, with the sides and rear of the existing building adjoining neighboring houses. This limits ventilation and sunlight from side openings, while the front façade also faces adjacent houses, making full-height windows difficult to use without compromising privacy. The homeowners wanted a home that is open yet filled with greenery.

상부 층에는 침실과 공용 공간을 배치하고, 중앙 계단으로 스플릿 레벨 구조를 연결함으로써 시각적, 공간적 연속성을 확보하고, 사적 영역과 공동 영역 사이의 균형을 확립했다. 또한 인도네시아의 덥고 습한 기후를 고려해 앞마당과 뒷마당을 완충공간으로 설정, 직접적인 열기 유입을 줄이고 건물의 교차 환기 성능을 높이고자 했다. 지붕에 배치된 천창은 자연 채광을 충분히 유입시키며, 공간 구조상 층별 공기 순환을 촉진한다. 앞마당 위의 루버는 직사광선을 차단하면서 프라이버시를 보호하며, 우드톤의 마감은 외벽, 지붕, 조경과 어우러져 건물 전체의 인상을 따뜻하고 부드럽게 조율한다.
