André Fu Studio는 홍콩에 본사를 둔 글로벌 디자인 스튜디오다. 세계적인 호텔 디자이너 앙드레 푸(André Fu)는 아시아와 유럽 전역에서 현대적 럭셔리를 재정의하며, 문화 간 다리를 놓는 디자인을 펼쳐왔다. 주요 프로젝트로는 Villa La Coste, Upper House Hotel, St. Regis Kyoto, Waldorf Astoria Bangkok 등 뉴욕의 전설적인 플래그십 호텔에서부터 전 세계의 랜드마크급 호텔까지를 아우르며, 세계 주요 도시의 스카이라인을 재정의해왔다. 이번 프로젝트는 세계적인 호스피탈리티 기업인 힐튼 산하 브랜드인 월도프 아스토리아(Waldorf Astoria)의 일본 최초 브랜드 공간을 의뢰한 것이다. 이전의 Waldorf Astoria New York이 시대를 초월한 우아함과 상징적 유산을 반영한다면, 2025년 5월 개관한 이번 오사카 호텔은 지역적 맥락을 반영하여 시대적 건축 언어로 브랜드와 도시의 정체성을 동시에 담아냈다고 볼 수 있다.

The wellness areas combine luxury and comfort, while the 252 guest rooms balance the warmth of a grand residence with the intimacy of private retreats. High-gloss lacquered surfaces in sage green and indigo blue shift with natural light, and bouclé textiles add depth. Accents of caramel yellow, jade, and cobalt blue interact subtly with light, creating a rhythm in dialogue with the cityscape. The Waldorf Astoria Spa draws from traditional Japanese ryokans, using mud-painted walls, shoji screens, crackled glass, and bronze. Treatment rooms, hot springs, steam rooms, and saunas are arranged in a diamond-shaped layout, reinterpreting Japanese thermal rituals. A 25-meter swimming pool, crowned by a pitched roof forming a sky bungalow, serves as a minimalist
retreat within the vibrant urban environment.
