'BLACKSWAN Restaurant' 프로젝트는 'Gary Hume'의 작품 '백조(2022)'로부터 시작되었다. 일련의 캔버스 위에 연속적인 선을 사용하여 우아한 백조를 표현한 이 그림을 통해 깊은 강렬함을 느낀 Chris Shao는 이를 기반으로 '빛의 시간'이라는 테마를 더해 이 공간을 기획했다. 더불어 자연과 예술이 수동적으로 만날 때 발생하는 미묘한 아름다움을 강조한 것이 특징으로, 시간의 흐름에 따라 빛의 양이 변화하는 것에 집중했다. 입구를 지나 베일에 싸인 듯한 비밀스러운 통로를 통과하면 메인 다이닝 공간이 펼쳐지는데, 이곳에서 동양식 조경의 정원을 보며 음식과 자연을 동시에 즐길 수 있다. Chris Shao Studio는 메인 다이닝 공간을 포함하여 곳곳에 백조를 연상케 하는 오브제들을 배치하여 전반적으로 우아한 무드를 자아내고, 차분한 색상과 다양한 소재를 사용하여 조화를 유지했다.

내부를 지나 밖으로 나가면 이어지는 테라스에선 호수 위를 떠다니는 백조를 감상할 수 있다. 이는 단순히 인공적인 요소를 통해 백조를 표현하는 것을 넘어 실제 백조의 우아한 움직임을 느낄 수 있도록 기획된 것으로, 이를 통해 Chris Shao Studio의 사려 깊은 기획력과 정교함을 엿볼 수 있다. 이 밖에도 백조를 연상케하는 디자인의 샹들리에를 중심으로 톤 앤 무드를 구축하고, 다채로운 오브제와 소재를 통해 백조의 깃털이 폭포처럼 쏟아지는 듯한 디자인을 표현했다. 이러한 전개 방식을 기반으로 Chris Shao Studio는 BLACKSWAN Restaurant을 통해 뮤즈를 향한 숭고함과 우아함에 대한 찬사를 보낸다.

 

Chris Shao Studio followed the intrigue of their founder and delved deeper into Hume's mind and work. Hume's idea of "light time" was reinterpreted and reimagined through an interior focussed lens. Hume highlights the subtle beauty that occurs when nature and art passively meet. These interactions can require patience, Chris Shao Studio engineers the phenomenon through thoughtful execution.

On the first floor of the Luo Hong Photography Art Museum, the main dining area sits in view of an oriental landscape garden. Patrons are not only fed fine French cuisine but a fusion of simple modernist design and rich natural beauty. Swans float in the lake while diners look on with a full view. Threaded throughout each room is the swan form, in some overt and other more gestural ways. The foyer desk emulates the Swan while a Caroline Sarkozy designed chandelier centers the area, and foretells the overall design of the space with Swanlike layers of cascading feathers.
