YOD Group은 우크라이나에 본사를 둔 국제적인 인테리어 디자인 스튜디오다. Volodymyr Nepiyvoda와 Dmytro Bonesko에 의해 2004년에 설립됐으며, 주로 상업 공간 디자인 분야에서 활동하고 있다. 특히 호텔, 레스토랑, 카페, 술집 등 호스피탈리티 프로그램에서 두각을 나타내는 YOD Group은 완벽한 이미지 구축을 위해서 가구, 조명과 장식을 디자인하고, 실험적인 시도로 공간을 구상하여 포트폴리오를 완성한다. YOD Group이 가장 중요하게 생각하는 것은 클라이언트뿐만 아니라 공간을 찾는 이들에게 감동을 전해주는 것이다.

The designers just emphasized some authentic elements and created on their basis a new contemporary interior. They had to hide all engineering systems to manifest the unique character of the place. You can not see any wire or cable inside Samna's halls. The restaurant has 5 halls and about 120 seats. Guests start their journey in the hall with a welcome bar where aperitives are served, then they go to one of three main halls with set tables. After the meal, they could hang out in a hall with a copper bridge, a DJ on the balcony, and a bar mixology. It is a perfect place for communication and seeping into the vibrant atmosphere of Samna.

Samna는 이스라엘의 유명 셰프 Meir Adoni의 중동요리 레스토랑으로, 키예프의 역사가 담겨있는 아스날나 광장 옆에 위치해 있다. YOD Group은 그들의 철학이 담긴 요소를 기반으로 현대적인 인테리어를 창조했다. 벽돌로 된 견고한 벽은 아치형으로 내부의 고급스러운 미관을 연출하고, 부분적으로 석고를 칠했다. 레스토랑의 홀 중 하나는 포도나무의 형상을 하고 있으며, 홀의 내부는 쇼윈도로 둘러 싸여있다. 와인의 원료인 포도를 재배하는데 기여하는 토양을 상징하여 보는 이에게 확장된 이미지를 부여한다. 토양의 이미지는 와인이 진열된 쇼윈도의 아래쪽에 인쇄되어 있으며, 윗부분은 반투명하게 표현했다. 이 홀을 방문하는 이들은 토양에서부터 자라나는 듯한 포도의 신선함을 시각적으로 느낄 수 있다.

There is plenty of copper in the restaurant's interior. It emphasizes the nobility of the place and works as an impressive contrast with laconic shapes of a bar island, console tables, and a shelf with glasses hanging above the counter on steel ropes. The soft shade of copper is also present in the restaurant's illumination. Spotlights' streaks reflect from the copper plates hung under the ceiling and ray to the tables. Such a structure of light provides an effect of a rich and warm beam which enlightens the space most comfortably and never blinds in guests' eyes.

레스토랑의 내부를 구성하는 소재로는 구리가 가장 많이 사용되었으며, 당시 흔히 쓰이던 소재인 구리 외 단단한 참나무, 가죽, 그리고 강철 등으로 Samna를 구성했다. 구리가 쓰인 인테리어 디자인은 Samna를 고급스럽게 연출한다. 철로 만들어진 밧줄 위에 유리잔을 진열할 수 있는 선반이 배치되어 있는데, 콘솔 테이블, 아일랜드 바 등의 투박한 형태와 전체적으로 대비되면서 인상적인 이미지를 전달한다. 조명은 천장 아래에 위치한 동판에 의해 반사되어 테이블을 빛나게 한다. 이처럼 빛을 활용한 구조는 손님들의 시야를 방해하지 않는 선에서 공간을 편안한 쉼터처럼 만들어주며 풍부하고 따뜻한 분위기를 조성한다.
